Consumers really do have no idea what is in their food, even when all the ingredients are listed! There's a similar embargo on any information pertaining to recycling, with supermarkets, in my humble opinion, confusing the issue by all using different descriptions, logos and advice when it comes to what packaging you can and can't recycle. There are time when big government is needed to nudge people in the right direction, towards an easy, more manageable way of doing things, and food labelling is one I think needs this. Whether or not this will happen with no FSA, who knows, but whatever happens I hope someone can take up the mantle on this issue.
